Theme of the week: Remember and Reclaim
Classes Taught: 7
This week has beautifully highlighted the delicate balance between holding space for others and allowing ourselves to be held. From being a student on Wednesday's yoga teacher retreat to facilitating sacred spaces at the weekend, there's been a powerful reminder of how these roles nourish each other. The shift into darker evenings has brought a natural invitation to turn inward and embrace autumn's gifts.
Challenges this week
The eternal dance with time has been particularly present this week - that feeling of having so much to offer and create yet being bound by the limitations of the ticking clock. A certain irony in feeling time-pressed during a season calls us to slow down, perhaps a reminder that we're still learning to balance our modern rhythms with nature's pace. Even as I facilitate spaces for others to pause and breathe, I'm reminded of the importance of finding these moments for myself.
The hour we have for Pause The Week never seems enough, but we covered so much ground, and everyone left having felt a transformation of some kind during a powerful yoga nidra journey to meet a version of the self and listen to her wisdom.
Glimmers of the week
The clocks falling back felt like nature's permission slip to fully embrace the cosy season - that extra hour of darkness inviting us to slow down and turn inward.
Wednesday's yoga teacher retreat was a precious opportunity to step back into the role of receiver, making new connections and experiencing the joy of being guided rather than guiding. And the walk through the fields to see the alpacas was the cherry-on-top!
Once again, co-creating sacred space with Sarah has been a highlight of my week. Our partnership feels like such a gift - the way her grounding presence balances my energy, how our ideas spark and weave together, her endless resourcefulness and enthusiasm. There's a special kind of magic that happens when you find someone who not only shares your vision but enhances it. Whether we're planning ceremonies, laying out feasts, or holding space for others, everything feels easier and more joyful when we work together.
Saturday's Mother-Daughter gathering brought such special moments, particularly during partner yoga where the laughter and gentle discoveries between pairs reminded us of the power of playful connection.
The evening Samhain gathering felt particularly magical, with those three formations of wild geese offering their perfect farewell as we worked with themes of release and invitation.
The communal aspects of sharing food and story, especially during the Samhain feast, reinforced how simple acts of nurturing can create the deepest bonds.
Watching women discover themselves and each other through various practices - from scribble journaling to vision boarding - each finding their own unique expression.
Looking ahead
This week bridges October and November with some of the season's most precious traditions. I'm looking forward to seeing the magic of Halloween through children's eyes - there's something wonderfully grounding about their pure delight in these ancient festivities that we've transformed into fun and play.
Wednesday evening will hold special significance as a small group of us gather to honour our ancestors and those we love who walk in the otherworld now. These quiet moments of remembrance feel particularly powerful at Samhain, when the veil is thin and memories feel closer. There's something deeply comforting about holding this space together, sharing stories and silence in equal measure.
You can book online for all classes, get in early as I am on a reduced timetable this week!
