Theme of the week: The Turning Wheel - Transition from Autumn to Winter
Classes Taught: 8
This week, I’ve been reflecting on the seasonal shift as autumn gives way to winter—a poignant time of transition. Like the turning wheel, this change reminds us of life’s inevitable cycles of endings and beginnings. The vibrant hues of autumn leaves fade and fall, leaving trees bare and quiet, preparing for the stillness of winter.
This transition is a time to honour both the letting go and the promise of renewal. As the wheel turns, we are invited to reflect on what no longer serves us—old habits, patterns, or thoughts that we might release into the currents of life, much like leaves carried away by the wind.
Nature, too, mirrors this rhythm. Trees shed their leaves not as a loss but as a preparation for the next season’s growth. The earth itself rests, conserving energy beneath the surface. This natural pause is a reminder to embrace stillness in our lives, let the wheel turn in its own time, and trust that renewal will follow.
The turning wheel also reminds us of the power of cycles. Just as winter brings stillness and introspection, it also offers a quiet transformation—a time to nurture our inner spark. While the external world slows, the energy within us can be gently rekindled, ready to bloom when the days grow longer once more.
As we step into this seasonal transition, it’s a perfect moment to reflect on the cycles within our own lives. What might you release as this year begins to wind down? And what intention or hope would you like to nurture during this time of rest and renewal?
The turning wheel teaches us that every ending carries the seed of a new beginning within it. By embracing this cycle, we honour the natural rhythms of life and prepare ourselves to step into the next chapter with clarity and purpose.
Glimmers of the week
Another gorgeous evening of cosy candlelit yoga at The Pod.
Yoga snacks galore: flapjacks, stuffed dates, nuts and fruits.
Planning two exciting yoga events over the festive period.
Launching a Black Friday collaboration with Chill and Tonic.
Receiving some unsolicited and deliciously positive feedback from some lovely yogis.
Challenges
On Saturday I found myself feeling rather worse for wear after eating some unusual food! Teaching yoga was a challenge, as I felt pretty unwell - but at least I was able to heal myself with yoga!
Looking ahead
Krampus inspires our theme for the coming week. Due to our Ebb and Flow Mini Yule Retreats, there is no class on Saturday.
Here are all the places you can find me...
You can book online for all classes.
Have a wonderful week. Vicki xx
