Week in Review - June 3rd

Theme of the week: Emergency!

Classes Taught: 3 (out of the 6 planned)

The week started really well, and I was so happy to get back to teaching. My theme for the week was 'Imagination is Kindled', and I took us all on a meditative journey to a tropical beach.

In Hatha, our peak pose was a 'scuttling crab' which was amusing and challenging in equal measure. In Yin, well, we totally chilled out on our own private beach because..... it was Yin!

Sadly, on Wednesday evening, there was an emergency with my lovely neighbour, and this meant I had to cancel all my remaining classes for the week. The good news is she is on the up!

Glimmers of the week

I have no idea what is going on with the 'special' effects on this video, but it makes me laugh so I am letting it ride!

I had another opportunity to watch my daughter perform this week. This time, singing her first full-length solo in public, and she had such amazing feedback. We were very proud.

We were puppy-sitting this weekend for our other neighbours. Little Rosa is a Dachshund pup, and she is adorable, so I had lots of cuddles and kisses with her.

Finally, on Sunday, I completed my yoga philosophy course. We enjoyed an Agnihotra ceremony, my first one. It was really enjoyable, and it is always great fun spending time with my yoga family. David trained me and just has so much knowledge and energy to impart.

Lessons Learned

  • A&E is hell on earth, but the staff are superheroes.

  • When making small talk about the weather, it is fun to describe the current meteorological situation as 'exciting and unpredictable'. It lifts the conversation out of a complaint into something more jovial.

  • The affirmation/mantra I was cultivating whilst at Disney has really helped me this week as well! ('I am patient and kind').

  • Dried cow poo doesn't smell anything like you would think it would when you set it on fire.

Girls' circle starts tomorrow, and I can't wait!

Looking Ahead

This coming week sees a full schedule. Because I missed my sessions later in the week, I have two themes:

  1. Yoga for deep sleep

2. 'Kindling imagination'.

Here is my schedule for this week. You can book all classes online.

Wishing you a truly wonderful week of exciting and unpredictable weather. (Wear layers)

Namaste.
