Week in Review - May 27th

Theme of the week: Disneyland Paris!

Classes Taught: 0

It was half-term week, and we travelled with my daughter's dance school to Disneyland Paris, where they danced on stage and in the parade.

It was all kinds of wonderful, and the inclement weather did nothing to dampen our spirits.

We travelled by coach and spent a total of 26 hours on the road, so I did quite a lot of seated yoga during those journeys, as well as plenty of breathwork to get me through long hours of nausea and the occasional stressful situation! I also listened to my own yoga nidra recordings on YouTube to relax at night.

I really missed my yogis while I was away and look forward to returning to it all.

Glimmers of the week

Seeing my daughter and her friends perform at Disney is something I will never forget. They had to work so hard to get there, and the rehearsal schedule was intense, but seeing them shine on stage was wonderful.

I am so proud of them all. Thank you so much to Louise Wright for creating so many opportunities for them.

Lessons Learned

  • Disney magic is real, even for an introverted yogi who doesn't like noise, crowds or 'organised fun'!

  • I can still function on 5 hours sleep (or less).

  • Silently repeating the mantra/affirmation 'I am patient and kind' really helps!
