Week in Review - September 16th

Theme of the week: Bhakti Yoga: Connecting to the Divine Through Love and Devotion

Classes Taught: 6

We continued our philosophy journey through the Yoga Sutras, moving into Sutra 1.23: "Bhakti Yoga: Connecting to the Divine Through Love and Devotion".

“Boundless love and devotion unite us with the Divine Consciousness.”

I really made an effort to live my yoga this week, centring myself in my heart space and connecting with that loving, compassionate energy. I haven't felt so carefree, joyful and calm in a long time. What did this look like?

  • I let my inner child come out to play. We painted, danced, and sang while foraging for Autumn foliage.

  • I looked for ways to say yes more to the children, soften my edges, and make more time to play, chat, and really listen to them.

  • That inner voice telling me 'you're not good enough', II thanked her for her concern about me and told her 'I've got this.' The reassurance quietened her down.

  • We ate delicious, nourishing food, which involved cooking from scratch and baking.

  • I went all out for Mabon, the Autumn Equinox, because it's one of my favourite festivals, and it brings me joy. We decorated the house, I treated myself to some new yoga leggings, and I bought some pumpkin spice tea!

  • A timing issue arose around my Saturday yoga class. My daughter's dance class starts earlier, which resulted in rushing and stress. Easily solved, I have moved my yoga class a little earlier. Guess what? The world is still turning, and any mama guilt I was feeling for making her late has dissolved.

Glimmers of the Week

Many of the glimmers are mentioned above, but I will add a couple...

  • Some new faces at my Thursday evening Yoga Foundations class at The Breathe In Space.

  • Receiving Yoga Nidra from Jo at The Breathe In Space on Saturday evening.

  • Snuggling up with my daughter, watching Gilmore Girls in the evenings. Cosy!

And, of course, the highlight of my week was Women's Circle. This month, we celebrated Mabon. What happens in Circle stays in Circle (!) but I can say that we created a nature mandala and enjoyed a grounding, releasing meditation. Here are a few photos.
